SANUR –Bali, Indonesia – August 13, 2024 – Sudakara Artspace is honoured to present “Soul Free,” an inspiring solo exhibition by the renowned Balinese painter Ni Wayan Sutariyani, affectionately known as Ni Way. This exhibition will run from August 15 to October 15, 2024 and showcases Ni Way’s profound exploration of freedom in creativity. Ni Way was raised in a family rooted in the values of love, hope, and faith. Her parents’ teachings have profoundly influenced her art. Besides being a professional painter, Ni Way is actively involved in coaching “art for healing” sessions. These sessions aim to rejuvenate and bring joy to participants through the therapeutic power of art.

In “Soul Free,” Ni Way interprets the theme of independence, particularly human freedom in all aspects, including creative expression. She believes that true freedom in art means expressing one’s heart, views, and thoughts without being constrained by external pressures. “We are thrilled to host Ni Way’s ‘Soul Free’ solo exhibition at Sudakara Artspace. Her work embodies a powerful message of liberation and personal expression, resonating deeply with our mission to support and celebrate artistic freedom. Ni Way’s paintings are a testament to her strength, resilience, and unbounded creativity, and we are excited to share her vision with the world,” said Ricky Putra, COO of Sudakara ArtSpace.

“This exhibition celebrates freedom in creativity. Each of my paintings reflects the figure of a strong woman, a mother who embodies gentleness, strength, and resilience. I believe that a mother is the pillar of prayer for her family, acting with her whole heart and selflessness. Through ‘Soul Free,’ I aim to honour the profound love and care that mothers give, which I see as the human embodiment of God’s love,” Ni Way shared. Ni Way’s works are known for their emotive power and spiritual depth, often depicting themes of maternal love, strength, and resilience. Her free spirit, uninfluenced by external pressures, shines through her art, offering viewers a unique perspective on life and spirituality. Join us at Sudakara Artspace to experience the captivating and heartfelt works of Ni Way. The “Soul Free” exhibition promises to be a memorable journey into the essence of artistic freedom and the profound impact of maternal love.
